APT Padel Tours shock increase of the prize money — up 300% next season

APT Padel Tour is going big for next season, in a video, with the tour's general manager Thomas Johansson he reveals that the prize money will increase by 300 percent in the Open category. 

— Now an Open category is 35 000 euro, it will go up to almost 100 000 by 2022.

This weekend saw the conclusion of the final round of the APT Padel Tour in Kungsbacka, Sweden. The winners were Fede Chiostri and Yain Melgratti. If they win the same tournament next year, however, they will be a little richer. 

During the competition, the APT Padel Tour released a video on their Youtube channel featuring the tour's General Manager, Thomas Johansson, where he talks about next season and the prize money. 

— I am super happy to announce that we will increase the prize money, especially in the Open category with 300 percent for 2022, Thomas Johansson says in the video. 

The biggest increase for the next season is in the Open category, which increases the prize money by 300 percent. In the Master category, it will be around 100 percent increase, and in the Grand Masters 50. 

— Now an Open category is 35 000 euro, it will go up to almost 100 000 by 2022. The sport is growing, but especially our tour is growing. We have more players and nationalities coming to play for us so I am very proud of my team and partners.
