Missed the last tournament — now Josemaria and Sanchez are in the final

LAS ROZAS. Paula Josemaria tested positive for Covid-19 before the Valencia Open. Now she and Ariana Sanchez are back and ready for the final of the Las Rozas Open after winning the semi-final in two sets against Bea Gonzalez and Lucia Sainz. 

The sets were close, but there was no need for a third deciding set, and the match at Centro Multiusos in Las Rozas ended 6-4, 7-5. That means Paula Josemaria and Ariana Sanchez are through to their fifth final in eight chances this World Padel Tour season. 

Before the last competition in Valencia, Paula Josémaria tested positive for Covid-19, and the pair could not compete. 

During Saturday's semi-final, the pair showed that they were back in good shape and played masterful padel in front of the crowd in Las Rozas outside Madrid. 

In the final, the team will face either the winning pair from Valencia, Tamara Icardo and Delfi Brea, or Marta Ortega and Marta Marrero. The semi-final between these pairs starts at 5 pm.
