Knocked out Lebron and Galan — ready for their first final of the season

ANNONS
They have had a tough season. But now Federico Chingotto and Juan Tello are ready for their first World Padel Tour final since last November. What a great tournament to do it in, in the Valladolid Masters. The semi-final contained a lot of emotions, especially after one dispute between Juan Tello and Juan Lebron.

VALLADOLID. In the first men's semi-final, the Plaza Mayor crowd in Valladolid was treated to a big surprise. Juan Tello and Federico Chingotto have only been to one semi-final this season in the Alicante Open.

Now they are ready for the final of the second Master's tournament of the year after a victory against world number one´s and this year's giants, Juan Lebron and Alejandro Galan, 6-4, 7-6.

The fast-paced padel that is played in Valladolid seems to suit Juan Tello's hard-hitting smash game perfectly. Even Federico Chingotto goes for the smash more often in Valladolid than on the normally slower courts when they play along the coast of Spain.

Federico Chingotto and Juan Tello's tactics were spot on from the start, and they were the best team and deservedly won the semi-final. After the match, the crowd began to sing ”TEEEELLLOO, TEEEELOO; TEEEEELOO” for a tribute to the tall backhand player.

The match also featured a dispute between Juan Tello and Juan Lebron, even then the crowd started screaming Tello's name.

The victory marks the first final for the team since November 2020, when they won Las Rosas Open. Furthermore, this is the second time that the team has reached the final in a Master tournament. The last time the team was in the final of a Master's was in Cascais Masters 2019.

In the final, Federico Chingotto/Juan Tello will face the winner in tonight's semi-final between Lucho Capra/Maxi Sanchez and Fernando Belasteguin/Sanyo Gutierrez.
