WPT to Denmark – tenth country in Europe
The World Padel Tour is expanding as interest in padel grows around Europe. Now Denmark has its first World Padel Tour event in history.
Denmark becomes the second Nordic country after Sweden to hold a World Padel Tour tournament. The Danish Padel Open, as the competition is officially called, will be held during 2022 and 2023 and will feature both a women's and men's class.
The country becomes the tenth European country overall to hold a World Padel Tour tournament.
Neighboring country Sweden was early to hold WPT Challengers, competitions where the top 16 ranked players are not allowed to play.
Since 2018, Sweden has hosted the Swedish Padel Open in Båstad with successful results, this year the tournament will move and be played in Malmö in November.
